General Description

Bull Canyon Ranches is a 12,000 acre subdivision consisting of stunning canyon country and open vistas. 140 acre parcels were established in the Bull Canyon in 2005, with multiple owners of one or more parcels. Bull Canyon Ranches is conveniently located 150 miles east of Albuquerque and 150 miles west of Amarillo, TX, off I-40. Access to Bull Canyon is through the Newkirk exit, then six miles east on the frontage road, then south into Bull Canyon Ranches. The closest town is Santa Rosa, half an hour away. Tucumcari, as well as Conchas Lake, are also within a short driving distance. Sub-division Covenants allow for property owners to go by ATV and horseback throughout the larger ranch lands, where there is also interspersed and accessible BLM lands.


The varied terrain of Bull Canyon attracts wildlife; mule deer, pronghorn, bobcat, rabbits, coyotes and the occasional visiting mountain lion. Birds include quail, dove, hawks, and occasionally eagles.


The topography is partly level with rocky ridges, canyons, and a few seasonal creeks that remain dry except during hard rains. Pinon and cedar trees are scattered through the native grasses, wildflowers and cacti.

Tract #57 Specifics

This property for sale, Tract #57, consists of 140.02 acres and is the first property as you enter Bull Canyon Ranches. It is a great site to build a home for a full time residence or a weekend get-away with mountain views, meadows and amazing rock cliff formations among mostly pinion and cedar trees. Owner's can also choose to use the property as a camp site and reside in their RV for up to nine months of the year. Electricity is located on the property; a well would need to be drilled for water. This location is remote and private yet only 30 minutes to Santa Rosa to the west or Tucumcari to the east. Both towns have a grocery store, restaurants, hardware stores, hospital etc.
